Multi-year global partnership will kick-off in March, in conjunction with DAZN’s knockout stage broadcasts

October 18, 2022 – Ahead of tomorrow’s highly-anticipated group stage kick-off, EA SPORTS (Electronic Arts Inc.) has been announced as the newest sponsor of DAZN’s UEFA Women’s Champions League (UWCL) broadcast coverage. The global multi-year partnership between leading sports entertainment platform DAZN and leader in digital interactive entertainment EA SPORTS will formally commence in March ’23 and, in this first partnership season, span all live matches from the quarterfinals through to the final in May.

The global sponsorship deal will see EA SPORTS advertising featured across all matchday global broadcasts of the knockout stage beginning in March, on both DAZN and on DAZN’s UWCL YouTube channel. Notably, this kick-off timing is also in conjunction with UWCL being available for the first time for fans to play in EA SPORTS FIFA 23 starting in early 2023.

The partnership expands upon DAZN’s long-term and long-time commitment to fast-track the commercial growth of women’s football worldwide and provide unprecedented access and exposure. Moreover, it reflects a shared mission with EA SPORTS to advance and elevate the game, engage existing fans while bringing in new audiences, and turn many more of the players into household names.

“We are thrilled to officially announce EA SPORTS as DAZN’s newest global broadcast sponsor of the UEFA Women’s Champions League coverage, as part of a budding roster of like-minded brands investing into the ever-strengthening women’s football economic ecosystem,” said Shay Segev, CEO, DAZN Group. “What EA SPORTS is doing to advance the women’s game is game-changing, and we look forward to activating this new partnership to collectively reach and engage millions more fans around the globe, further tap into the commercial potential of the sport, and inspire the next generation along the way.”

“We’re thrilled to partner with such a dynamic broadcast partner to help drive the women’s game forward,” said Andrea Hopelain, SVP Brand at EA SPORTS. “DAZN share our goals to showcase the top talent from across the globe and be change makers of the future of the sport. This partnership will allow us to better connect fans to their favourite players and clubs across sport, entertainment and gaming.”

DAZN’s record-breaking broadcast coverage of the UEFA Champions League that EA SPORTS will become a global sponsor of is part of a growing series of rights that are transforming DAZN into the proud home of women’s football around the world. Other elite offerings include the English Football Association (FA) Barclays Women’s Super League and Women’s FA Cup across multiple territories, a five-year deal with Spain’s Finetwork Liga F, an eight-year contract to broadcast WE League in Japan, and a new deal with Frauen-Bundesliga in Germany.
